Magazine Cover and Contents Page and Evaluation





 

A convention that my product follows is the main image covering the entire page. Also, it follows the conventions by having the masthead in a huge font, which stands out and is instantaneously seen. I attracted the female audience by attaching an attractive young model on to the front page. The male audience would be attracted to the page because many males would look up to the model and want to see him regularly. The fonts would attract my audience by including many different fonts and easy to read colours. The technologies used to produce this product was the 'stroke' affect. This makes the font more readable and makes it stand out more. The photography includes a medium short showing the model's upper body. The lighting comes from behind the model which puts the light on his face making his bright. The colour scheme is yellow, blue and red. These all blend together make the page stand out. By creating this, I have learnt how to use different things in Photoshop. When including a black box, I learnt how to make the box more transparent so the audience can see the image behind it. A strength of my magazine cover page is that the main image is big and clear, allowing the audience the see it. However, a weakness that is has is that it is way too basic. This could be improved by adding more text and colours, making it more attractive to look at.

 

 



 



A convention that my product follows is that the font and bbackground colours contrast, which is effective because it stands out for the viewer to read easily. Another convention is that it includes contact details, which is effective because it shows the audience that the magazine is a well organised company. The fonts that I used would attract my audience because they are in attractive colours and easy to read font styles. The is a variety of diffeent photos being used and they show many different perspectives of my models. The layout of the page is laid out in a specific way, the photos are on the right side of the page and the page contents is on the left. this layout is effective because it allows the viewer to distinguish what to expect to see when opening them pages. When using Photoshop while creating this page, I learnt how to align the pictures to the exact same size and position. This is effective because it makes the page look very tidy. A strength of my contents page is that the layout is very clear and everything is very tidy and pleasant to look at. However a weakness of the page is that there are many blank spaces, which makes the page quite boring. This could be improved by me adding more text or even photos, to fill up the space.
